Purple ribbons are a reminder of the victims and the services that are available to help

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and there are services that can help. Please call Legal Aid at 888-534-5243 or find information about Relationship Abuse & Domestic Violence on our free legal information web site OKLaw.org

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and purple ribbons are a reminder of not only the victims, but also the services that are available to help.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we remember victims and those who continue to lead the campaign for all DV victims.  Beginning October 1st, pin a purple ribbon on your collar, create an arm band for your wrist or tie a purple ribbon around your tree.

Help bring awareness to this issue by wearing a purple ribbon throughout October and telling people why you are wearing it.

If you need help, please call Legal Aid at 918-428-HELP (4357) or 888-534-5243  or call the National DV Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233).

Find information about Relationship Abuse & Domestic Violence on our free legal information web site OKLaw.org.

Our hope is that you have never experienced domestic violence or relationship abuse.

This short video from Makers of Memories sets out a few facts you may not know about domestic violence.

During October, Legal Aid will host a daily online quiz on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/legalaidok .  We will ask a question each business day to promote education about domestic violence.

Watch daily for the question mark button!
We'll give you the correct answer the next day.
